From tiny beginnings among Jesus’ disciples, the church exploded into a worldwide force in just a few years. How? Jesus left His followers with a mission, and the Spirit of God moved mightily through them to fulfill it. Luke’s account of how the gospel was carried from Jerusalem to Rome―despite every conceivable obstacle―assures us that God will also help us discover and live out our mission in the world.

Do you feel that the ability to hear God's voice is for other people and not for you? Is it only for people who lived in Biblical times?

Not at all! The God who loved you enough to die for you loves you enough to talk to you. And wherever you are in your spiritual walk, God will find a way to speak to you in a way you will understand.

Become acquainted with the Voice that has spoken from a fire and a cloud, with visible signs and an invisible Spirit, through a burning bush and burning hearts. Hear from some of the most well-known Christians in history about how God speaks to them, and discover for yourself how you can discern the voice of God.

Embark on a journey to letting go of the things you can’t control, finding the strength to hang on tighter to those you can―and finally learning how to tell the difference. If you’re like most women, you have been trying to hang on tight, so you can get life right. Jennifer Dukes Lee has written this Bible study workbook especially for you. Over the course of this study, you’ll:

  • Uncover surprising truths from the life of Jesus about busy-ness, obedience, and asking for help

  • Discover five major reasons that keep us from trusting God―and how to overcome them

  • Make healthier, wiser decisions about how to spend your time and energy

  • Find practical exercises and Scriptural truths to guide you in living a life of surrender to God.

This isn’t a journey to “doing less;” it’s about becoming more of who God has truly created you to be.

Jonah

Wednesdays, 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm

September 11 – October 30

Meets at Living Water Community Church, Worship Room

Led By: Erin Rossignol

Children's Ministry Available (ages 3 and up)

Material Cost: $5

You may think the book of Jonah is a fish story for Sunday school kids, but there is much more here. It contains lessons for all of us about how we respond to God’s commands, especially when we don’t want to, and to what lengths He will go to get our attention and obedience. In the end, it reminds us that victories can cause us to become demanding, but God loves us too much to leave us there. You will see yourself and your God better after studying this important little book.

Becoming a woman of prayer (cynthia heald)

September 12 – November 21

Meets at Living Water Community Church, Room 112

Led By: Theresa Smeltzer

So often we think of prayer as something we do to break through to God―to get His attention and to get Him to listen to us. But intimacy with God is His idea. He has taken the initiative, and prayer is His gift to us. It is an opportunity for us to respond to His invitation to intimacy by calling, crying, and singing to Him. Prayer is our response to the One who has called out to us and desires to be in a relationship with us. In Becoming a Woman of Prayer, Cynthia Heald will encourage you to respond to God’s invitation to deeper intimacy with Him.
