We believe that baptism is for those who have placed their faith in Jesus and are able to publicly profess their faith in Jesus.

There are no commands for child dedication in the New Testament. However, the practice in the Old Testament as seen in the life of Hannah (Samuel) and with Mary and Joseph (Jesus) was based off of Exodus 22:28-29. This is done in church today to remember the heart of this command in recognition of God’s blessing on our families as well as an opportunity to join with God and the local church in a commitment to raise children to know and follow the teaching of Jesus.

Child dedication is usually geared for children from birth to 5 years old. If your children are older, you may still want to dedication your children. Just reach out to us if this is the case.

We welcome those who call Living Water their church home to dedicate their child. We would ask that you attend Living Water for 6 months prior to child dedication. We would also remind our families that this is making a public commitment to God that you are prepared to commit raising your child to grow in their faith with the partnership of Living Water Community Church.

The class contains a review of a biblical principles for raising and training your children. There are many helpful tools and conversations as you consider how you will raise your child. Topics covered include Establishing Family Goals and Values, Discipline and Correction, Foundations for faith conversations, and more.

This one session class is a requirement for dedicating your child at Living Water. The class includes a review of what happens during the Child Dedication Service and is part of the equipping families process here at Living Water Community Church.
