Join us on Saturday, October 30th, for the Beyond Color Blindness and Anti-Racism Seminar, presented by Dr. George Yancey, at Living Water Community Church from 9 AM - 4 PM.

For far too long, Americans in general, and American Christians in particular, have failed in their attempts to solve the racial problems that plague our nation.  The primary reason for this failure is that the approaches that are being used are inadequate.

  • Some people advocate Colorblindness, which seeks to end racism by ultimately ignoring racial realities.

  • Others advocate Anglo Conformity, which believes that the majority group must train the minority group how to succeed, and correspondingly, the minority group must act on that training.

  • Still, others seek to address the racial challenges of our society through Multi-Culturalism.  Multi-culturalism seeks to correct racial problems by promoting respect and appreciation for minority cultures and the contribution of people of color.

  • And yet another group embraces White Responsibility, which lays the blame for all racial issues square at the feet of the majority culture.

Sadly, many American churches have embraced one or a combination of these inadequate, secular approaches in their attempt to bring healing and hope to America’s racial divide.

But there is a better way… a biblical way…

  • One that is based on the Gospel.

  • One that considers others better than ourselves.

  • One that examines the log in our own eye before pointing out the speck in the other’s eye.

  • One that acknowledges and confesses our own sinfulness.

  • One that grants forgiveness and overflows with grace.

It is a uniquely Christian approach to solving racial problems, which Christian sociologist Dr. George Yancey calls the Mutual Responsibility Model.

If you would like to learn more about this model and how it can be used to solve the racial struggles that confront our nation, please attend the Beyond Colorblindness and Anti-Racism Seminar at Living Water Community Church on October 30th, 2021 from 9 AM to 4 PM.
